Hop along to Willen Lake for their free Easter trail open 10am to 4pm, from Saturday 5 April to Monday 21 April.
The trail is under 1km long and follows a circular route that both starts and ends at the Watersports Centre. Along the way, children will get to answer questions and be treated to a selection of Easter and Spring themed jokes that are sure to bring a smile. It’s a great way for families to stretch their legs and enjoy a fun activity together.
Our trail is most suited to children under 8 years of age but everyone is welcome to take part.
Visit the Watersports Centre booking desk to collect your answer sheet.
We have a wonderful selection of events, including a Children’s Lit Fest on Saturday 12 April with interactive events for all ages. Laura Henry-Allain MBE, creator of CBeebie’s JoJo and GranGran, brings all the fun of Maya & Marley and the Great Big Tidy Up for children aged 4+, reminding us that caring for each other and the world around us makes everyone happier! Author and illustrator Jack Noel brings us a brand new graphic novel and superhero with the dynamic Dadbot, a hilarious event for 6+ full of robots, puns, drawing and dastardly dad-napping. The award-winning Onjali Q. Raúf introduces us to the heartwarming tale of The Letter with the Golden Stamp, a compassionate and uplifting story of a secret Young Carer (and stamp collector…) with a mysterious invisible neighbour who just might be a spy for 8+.
Finally, we have a treat for YA readers, with Anna February’s debut fantasy novel, The Hive, a thrilling and original dystopian mystery set in a future monarchy, where young bodyguard Feldspar is about to question everything she’s been raised to believe.,
Our other fascinating and entertaining speakers include bestselling crime writer Mark Billingham in conversation with Sarah Pinbourough, acclaimed debut novelist Kaliane Bradley, journalist Edward Stourton, historical true crime writer Hallie Rubenhold, food writer Sanjana Modha, and many more.
